Norma Kay Frandsen Olson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend was received into the arms of her loving Heavenly Father on June 13, 2025.

Born on September 12, 1941, to Russell and Maybelle Frandsen, Norma grew up as one of eight children and was like a second mother to her four brothers and three sisters. Early in life she learned to cook, clean, garden and sew, skills she mastered and used to bless her family throughout her life.

In 1962, while running an errand in Mt. Pleasant, a flat tire led to a chance meeting with Scott Olson, who came to her rescue. He changed her tire and asked her out. This began their love story that would last for over 60 years. Norma and Scott were married on September 14, 1963 in Mt. Pleasant, and later became the parents of Kelly Scott, Kevin Lynn and Kurt Laramie.

In the early years of their marriage, they lived in Mt. Pleasant, Panguitch and Salina before settling in Richfield. While Scott worked as an engineer at UDOT, Norma was a homemaker. In the mid-1970's, she began working for the Sevier School District as a school lunch worker. She enjoyed her work and made many dear friends there. After retiring in 1996, Norma embraced her new role as a loving caregiver to her grandchildren. Her grandchildren love going to "Grandma's Daycare" and created treasured memories.

Norma was known for her vibrant personality and her ability to make friends easily. Her quick wit and warm humor ensured she never met a stranger. She and Scott enjoyed traveling, including a memorable trip to Alaska and annual visits to the NFR in Las Vegas. They also treasured family trips to California's Disneyland, Universal Studios and the San Diego Zoo, as well as camping trips to Otter Creek and Fishlake.

Norma was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings over the years. Some of her favorites included serving as the Young Women's secretary and as a member of the compassionate service committee, where she was asked to sew and crochet baby blankets for all of the new mothers in the ward. Norma was perfectly suited for this calling, and many women in the ward were blessed by her talent, receiving beautiful handmade blankets for their newborns.

Norma found immense pleasure in working in her yard. She spent countless hours meticulously caring for her lawn and flower gardens and was always delighted when passersby would compliment their beauty.

Despite years of chronic pain from arthritis and surgeries, and later battling Alzheimer's Disease, Norma faced her challenges with strength. We are grateful she is now free from suffering. We extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Kimberly Beck, Dr. Howard Reishman, Dr. Spencer Naser, Dr. Cole Robinson, Justin Archibald PA-C, and the staff at Southwest Spine & Pain Clinic for their dedicated service. We also thank Dr. David Pope, Robbi Harvey NP, and the compassionate team at Zions Way Home Health & Hospice, with special gratitude to Madi and Dakota for their truly angelic kindness.

Norma's life was a testament of kindness, strength and enduring to the end. We will forever remember her love, and she will be deeply missed.

Norma is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Scott; her sons, Kelly (Cindy), Kevin (Jennifer); seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; her sisters Darlene Blackham, Dorothy (Roscoe) Taylor and Tammy Mellies; her brothers; Scott (Diane) Frandsen, Wally Frandsen; her sisters-in-law, Mary Frandsen, Carolyn Olson, and brothers-in-law, Bob (Roene) Olson and Kent (JoLynne) Olson.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Maybelle Frandsen, her brothers, Ned and Steven; her nephew, Lewis Frandsen, her beloved son, Kurt Laramie, her grandson, Braden Ray, her in-laws, Ray and Blanche Olson; and her brothers-in-law, Gerald Olson, Gary Mellies and John Blackham.
