    Norman Dee Ivie, age 65, passed away on June 8, 2023 in Oklahoma. Dee was born on December 18, 1957 to Delmore and Georgetta Ivie in Duchesne.
    Growing up, Dee was very active in sports. He excelled in football and basketball, still holding school records at Duchesne High School.
    After high school, Dee married Joni Swan and they went on to have four children: Jeremy, Angie, Robyn, and Darin. In 1995, Dee married Jerri Chappell and helped raise her seven children: Laura, Blaine, George, Cena, Melina, Charles, and Teri.
    Dee worked for the Utah Department of Corrections as a prison guard for over 20 years, retiring in 2014. In his spare time, Dee enjoyed long distance running, digging for Indian artifacts, attending sporting events, and being a grandpa.
     He is survived by his children: Jeremy Ivie, Angie Ivie, Robyn Davis, and Darin Ivie; his late wife’s children: Laura Hales, Blaine Chappell, George Chappell, Cena Rasmussen, Melina Huntsman, Charles Chappell, and Teri Hart; his siblings: Jessie Johnson, Letha Hyde, Linda Reynolds, Joetta Mathews, Donna Stewart, Bonnie Andreasen, Lee Ivie, and Kayleen Jeppesen; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
    Dee is preceded in death by his wife, Jerri Ivie; parents, Delmore and Georgetta Ivie; nephews Russell Allen and Robert Johnson; and niece, Callie Mathews.
    Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 11:00 a.m in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Duchesne Utah (901 North 500 East). Burial will be in the Strawberry Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.  Online guestbook at www.maglebymortuary.com
