Pamela Sorenson
February 22, 1947 – May 10, 2025
Richfield, Utah
Pamela Dawn Shupe Sorenson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on May 10th, 2025, at the age of 78, due to injuries sustained in a fall. Born on February 22nd, 1947, in Salt Lake City Utah, Pam lived a full life surrounded by devoted family and friends.
Pam grew up in the Salt Lake Valley and attended West High School, where she met and married Kenny Cole (later divorced). They were blessed with three wonderful children: Cynthia Cole of California; Cory (Shelby) Cole of Herriman, Utah; and Julie (Justin) Goodsell of Mesquite, Nevada. Pam found great joy in her family, especially her grandchildren, Tori and Jordan Goodsell, and bonus grandchildren Skyler, Adam, and Shalyce Asher.
After her divorce, Pam made a new home in Richfield, Utah. It was during a church history tour that she met Durell Sorenson - a kind, thoughtful man who delighted in carrying her bags, sharing treats, and talking with her for hours. Their connection blossomed quickly, and they were later married in the Manti Utah Temple. Together, they enjoyed many joyful adventures - from trips to Branson Missouri, Alaska, Hawaii, and a Panama Canal Cruise, to spontaneous motorhome trips with their cherished dogs, Sadie, Rocky, and Mollie. These were among the best years of their lives, filled with countless memories, built side by side.
With her marriage to Durell, Pam gained a loving bonus family. She was deeply grateful for the kindness and love shown by Durell’s sons, Kent (Diane) Sorenson and Randy (Terry) Sorenson, and their many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pam had an extraordinary talent for arts and crafts. She was an avid seamstress and tole painter, and she lovingly knitted baby booties that she gifted to friends and family. She had a love of dolls that began in childhood and became a treasured hobby as an adult. In Richfield, she found joy with a group of women who shared her passion for creating porcelain dolls. From painting faces to sewing clothes and selecting wigs, Pam poured her heart into each creation.
Pam will be remembered for her deep love for anything furry (especially her dogs), her many talents, her boundless creativity, and the beautiful dolls she so lovingly crafted and gifted to those she loved.
Pam is survived by her devoted husband of 15 years, Durell Sorenson; her children, grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews; her extended Sorenson family; and countless friends who held her dear.
As you make your way to heaven Pam, don’t linger too long at the Rainbow Bridge with all your beloved fur-babies - Jesus is waiting to welcome you home!
