Paul Richard Swalberg graduated from his mortal journey in Panguitch, Utah, on September 4th, 2025, at the age of 79, surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born May 25, 1946, in Cedar City, Utah, to Fred A. and Helen Richards Swalberg. He was the 3rd child of four children. He had two older sisters, Karen Roberts and Carma Puffer, and a younger brother, Steve Swalberg. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Puffer, brother-in-law, and Karen Roberts, his sister. Paul was raised on the family farm in Marysvale. He graduated from Piute High School, where he was student body president. He spent one year at the College of Southern Utah. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Southern States. His favorite area was South Carolina. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business and finance at Utah State University. He decided to return home to help his parents with the farm in Marysvale, Utah

He married the love of his life, Sue Ann Moore, on September 7, 1968, at the Manti Temple. Their life was blessed with three children: Darren (Trina) Swalberg, Tiffany (Cameron) Greenhalgh, and Ryan (Amanda) Swalberg. And a bonus son, Todd Troseth. Paul was a proud grandfather of four grandchildren. Jadelyn, Jaxon, Brenden, Kira.

He served on several boards in the farming industry, including Farm Bureau President for Piute County and Upper Sevier River Water Board. He served as Bullion Creek Irrigation President and Cottonwood Irrigation President for several years. He served on the Piute School Board for 8 years. He still had great concern for the family farm even up to his final days. He is a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ. Paul faithfully served in many callings within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Including Bishop, Stake callings, and ward callings. One of his many favorites was the years he and his wife were called to be Ordinance Workers in the St George Temple. He truly loved everyone he met.

Paul leaves behind a legacy of faith, service, and unwavering love that will continue to bless generations. Paul’s family truly loves and appreciates everyone who served him at the Garfield Memorial Hospital and the hospice caregivers at the Garfield Memorial Care Center.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in Marysvale LDS Ward Chapel at 800 W Bullion Ave. A viewing will be held prior to services from 9:00 to 10:30 am at the Church. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery at 2:30 pm.
