Our beloved Mother, Pearl D. Rogers, passed away on June 21, 2026, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s may be a thief of so many things, but it never took her sense of humor or her love for Elvis.
Pearl was known for her big heart, caring nature, and her open arms to anyone in need of help or a place to stay. She was generous with her time and talents, especially when it came to family, friends, and refereeing youth games at her church.
Pearl was born on September 12, 1943, at her Aunt Pearl’s home in Glenwood, Utah, to Jack Dawson Dickinson and Alma Bridges Dickinson. She graduated from Richfield High School in May 1961 and shortly after moved to Salt Lake City to live with her sister Sherry and brother-in-law Merrill Lewis. It was there that she began dating the love of her life. Just months later, she married her husband, Philip (Phil) Rogers, on November 18, 1961. Together, they raised four rambunctious boys and spent most of their married life in Sandy, Utah. Pearl was a devoted wife to Phil and a loving mother to her four boys. She did not miss a sporting event and was their second biggest cheerleader—right behind their Aunt Sherry.
Many summers and falls were spent in the mountains hunting, camping, and fishing alongside family and friends. Pearl was also a devoted and loving sister, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed countless games of pinochle, bowled in leagues, and loved to travel. To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was simply the best grandma ever. They shared many sleepovers, late-night movies, and sugary treats at her house—memories they will cherish forever.
Pearl is survived by her two brothers, Bob and Lloyd Dickinson; her sons Shelby (Michelle), Jeff, Joey (Rondi), and Randy; as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Shelby’s daughters Brittney (Dillon) Guthrie and Brooke (Steve) Hardesty; Jeff’s daughters Cynthia (Dan) Moon and Shania Coates; Joey’s children Coleman, Sarah (Tom), and Thor (Shayelin); Randy’s children Jaden (Rylee), Corbin (Lindsey), and Ayva; and 10 great-grandchildren—Caden, Amelia, Paisley, June, Hadlee, Hudsyn, Dusty, Haisyn, Avery, and Norah.
She was preceded in death by her husband Phil Rogers; her parents; two sisters, Lennis Helquist and Sherry Lewis; five brothers, Gary, Almon, Roger, Clifford, and Ricky Dickinson; and her infant daughter, Cynthia Rogers.
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Pearl’s caregivers, Michelle Ward, Dignity Home Health & Hospice, and to the staff at Crescent Memory Care for the love and care they offered our mom.
