Raymond Thomas Irigoyen

Raymond Thomas Irigoyen, 74, passed away November 11, 2018 at his home in Richfield.  He was born January 8, 1944 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Frank Apodaca and Mary Aurelia Garcia Irigoyen.
He married Martha Chere Vaughn, May 20, 1995 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  The marriage was solemnized on their 11th  anniversary, May, 20, 2006 in the Manti Utah Temple.
When he and Martha moved to Richfield, they were members of the Richfield 8th Ward, the 3rd Ward and currently of the Richfield 10th Ward.  He has served in various callings such as ward greeter, high priest secretary, ward Sunday School president, Sunbeam Primary teacher and home teacher.
Ray spent 16 months in Korea, serving in the U.S. Army.  He loved the military and was presently involved in his local VFW and  American Legion posts.  At the time of his passing, he was scheduled to play taps at the Richfield Veterans Day memorial program.
After his time in military service, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 25 years.  After that, he drove Citizen’s Area Transit bus in Las Vegas until health issues caused him to retire.
Ray loved Martha very much, they did everything and went everywhere together.  They both were hunters, fishing partners and just loved to drive around and enjoy the beautiful scenery and wildlife.
He is survived by his wife, Martha; children: Samuel Thomas Irigoyen, Christopher Ray (Dawn) Irigoyen, Raymond Thomas (Jenny) Irigoyen, Jr., Britainy (Kristopher) Miller, John Murphy, Gary (Lailani) Murphy, Brandi (Christopher) Nielson, Jesse (Shauna) Williams; 18 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; siblings: Josephine Lasswell, Dolores Nixon and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
Preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Mary, Edmund, Francisca and Francisco.
Cremation services have taken place.  Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 1st at 11:00 in the Richfield 10th Ward Chapel, 700 West 200 South in Richfield.  Military honors by the V.F.W. Sevier Post #5050, Elsinore American Legion Post #75 and the Utah Army Honor Guard will follow at the chapel.
