Redge Jensen
Gunnison, Utah

Redge Don Jensen, loving husband, son, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on June 28, 2023, at the age of 81, in Gunnison.   Redge was born on April 19, 1942, in Salina, to Donald Cleon and Veda Winn Jensen. He was raised in Centerfield and graduated from Gunnison Valley High School in 1960.
Redge married his sweetheart, Pat Hales, in 1961 and attended Snow College before graduating from the College of Pharmacy at the University of Utah in 1965.
Redge and Pat opened Jensen Drug in Gunnison, in 1969 and served the surrounding communities until 2013 – nearly 45 years. In addition to operating his own business, Redge also served as the pharmacist for Gunnison Valley Hospital for 25 years, volunteered with the Sanpete County Search and Rescue for 28 years, and helped provide support for the Gunnison Prison. During his time in the Search and Rescue, Redge served as the County Unit Commander and as Commander of the State Search and Rescue Association.
Redge loved his Father in Heaven and his Savior and was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a ward finance clerk for many years both in his home ward and in a student ward at Snow College.  It was his temple service as an ordinance worker in the Manti Utah Temple that brought him tremendous joy. Redge loved to be in the temple. He knew that his life had been preserved for the purpose of serving in the temple and he loved to be in the House of the Lord.
Redge and Pat are the parents of four children. Their third child, Michael, was born with Batten Disease. Redge and Pat worked tirelessly to provide constant care for him throughout his life. Redge’s pharmaceutical knowledge proved vital in caring for Michael.
Redge enjoyed many types of shooting sports and often participated in Cowboy Action Shooting under the alias of Vanishing Breed. His alias adequately described him. He was a gentle, kind, and loving man who devoted his life to the service of his Heavenly’s Father and his fellow men.
