Richard V. Bagley
Monroe, Utah
On the evening of September 29, 2023 at his home in Waynesboro, VA, Richard V. Bagley quietly passed through heaven’s doors into the arms of so many who loved him.
Richard was born in Salina, to Dean and Ada Bagley on October 11, 1943. He was privileged to be a brother to Gloria Larson, Roger Bagley and Bob Bagley . He grew up in Greenwich, and graduated from North Sevier High School. He served in the Eastern Atlantic States Mission as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Southern Utah University and then had a career and retired from working in Adult Probation and Parole. He served in various capacities for the Church and influenced many throughout the world because of his generosity and service. He loved the Lord and he showed it by serving all he came in contact with and by spending time serving in the temple.
Richard’s greatest joy and accomplishments came from his family. He was sealed to Donna LaVonne Trujillo on July 15, 1966 in the Manti LDS Temple; they eventually made their home in Monroe. Richard and Donna were blessed with 5 daughters and one son. As each of their children’s spouses joined the family they claimed them as their own: Janice Lee Berthelson (Mark, deceased), Atwater, CA; LaDonna Lynn Madsen (Travis), Payson; Richard Layne Bagley (Suzanne), Koosharem; Maria Lucia Holder (Keith), Centerfield; Natalie LaVonne Bagley (deceased), and Ashley Lynette Gerhauser (John), Fort Fairfield, ME.
After Donna’s death he married Joan I Watson, May 21, 2006 and became a father figure to many more children whom he loved as his own.
Richard’s pride and joy were his 23 grandchildren, their spouses and 9 great-grandchildren. Each one of these grandkids were his favorite and he appreciated getting to spend time with them. He loved every member of his eternal family and he was always concerned with and asking about their welfare.
Richard is preceded in death by his wife and sweetheart Donna; daughter Natalie; son-in-law, Mark; and his grandson Adam.
