Richard Paul Willes, 72, of Richfield, passed away unexpectedly March 9, 2023, in Richfield. He was born in Richfield to Harvey William Willes and Betty Lay on October 1, 1950.  He attended school at Edgewood High School in West Covina, CA.  He married his high school sweetheart, Wilhelmina Henrika Revocata Vandenbrand on March 17, 1973, in West Covina.  He worked as a Compressed Air Mechanic for Cate Industrial for 25+ years.  He was a veteran and served in Vietnam while serving in the United States Navy.
Paul was a hard-working man and made sure he was taking great care of his family. He also enjoyed his time spent with his family, camping, fishing, boating and playing with his grandkids, making them laugh. Paul loved to make people laugh with his practical jokes and telling hilarious stories about his life around the campfire.
Paul also spent a lot of time working on the yard and updating their house,  currently working on building a new house that Paul was so proud of.
Paul was always there to help his family and friends; he would be the first one to say let’s get this done and would not leave till it was completed.
Paul touched the hearts of anyone who had the chance to know him. He was a well-loved man!
He is survived by his wife Wilhelmina; children: Angelina (Brad) Rasmussen, Deanna (Jaron) Fritzsching, Jason (Tara Clayton) Willes, and Melynda (Randy) Willes; grandchildren: Madison McCalmon, Mickensie Maxfield, Kristin McCalmon, Stephen Checketts, Tyson Fritzsching, Audrianna Rasmussen, Seth Checketts, Jacob Fritzsching, Brooklynn Rasmussen, Hailey Fritzsching, Skyler Checketts, Paxton Hepner, and Saige Willes; great-grandchildren: Harley Self, Harper Quinn, Hudson Maxfield, and Denver Bradley Quinn; siblings: Chuck Willes, Debbie Wyatt, and Brad Willes.
