Robert Scott Patterson, a beloved father, grandfather, and veteran of the United States 19th Special Forces, passed away on July 28, 2024 at the Central Utah Veterans Home in Payson, surrounded by those who loved him. He was born on October 3, 1970 at St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City, to Rita Ann Patterson. He married Heather Puzey, August 18, 1995 in the Manti Temple; they later divorced in 2010.

Scott is survived by his loving family — sons: Trae (Kaitlyn) Patterson, Chanson (Jess) Patterson, Gavin Patterson, Austin Patterson, Keston Patterson; grandbabies: Bennett Scott, Aiden, Lucas, and Harper; siblings: Jeff (Jen) Sharp, Mikel Sharp, Susanne (Jeremy) Teeples.

Throughout Scott's life, he touched the hearts of many with his infectious sense of humor, resilience, and unwavering love for those around him. Scott was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2003, through all his pain and suffering he showed unmeasurable strength and long suffering, and made time to listen to others as they would come and talk to him about their own personal struggles. His dedication to serving our country as a member of the United States Special Forces exemplified his bravery and commitment to protecting/serving others. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a senior Family History Missionary.

In addition to being a dedicated soldier, Scott had an extensive passion for music that he loved to share, specifically with his five boys. He found solace in spending time with loved ones, especially when dirt bikes were involved. He loved to be outside having adventures with his boys, everything from shooting guns, camping, and exploring the mountains. He loved to take trails that shot off of the main road, while riding ATV’s or his truck, just to see where it would go, and what new discoveries he’d find a long the way.

A funeral service will held on August 5, 2024 to honor Scott's memory. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and fellow veterans at the Central Utah Veterans Home for their exceptional care during Scott's final days. Their compassion provided comfort during this difficult time.

Scott will be deeply missed by all who knew him but will live on through cherished memories shared with family members near and far. His legacy as a devoted father, proud grandfather, loyal friend will forever remain an inspiration to us all.
