Russell G. Winn, 85, a long-time resident of Annabella, passed away peacefully on September 12th, 2026, at his home, surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.
He was born June 20th, 1941, in Richfield to Loron and Gertrude Winn. His parents raised him in Richfield, and he graduated from Richfield High School. Russell met the love of his life, Deon Moosman, at the roller-skating rink. The couple married in Ely, Nevada, on April 1st, 1961. His wife of 54 years preceded him in death on April 16, 2015.
They moved to Salt Lake City together, where they started a family and raised 3 children, Kelly, Kathy, and Kriss. Russell became a very successful brick mason and ran his own business until the couple decided to move back to Annabella in 1984.
Russell continued to lay brick for many years throughout Sevier County. He finally hung up his trowel and retired. Spending the rest of his years hunting, fishing, camping, and riding horses with friends and family. He was the epitome of a family man. He loved making people laugh and playing with the grandchildren (8) and great-grandchildren (12). His face would light up whenever a grandchild was around. Russell also took pride in having a beautiful home, yard, and garden.
He is survived by his children, Kelly (Marnee) Winn, Kathleen Winn Mulks, Kristeen (Larry) Forbush; his siblings, Irene Winn, Rex Winn, Suzie (Sandy) Mulkey, Chad (Teresa) Winn and Janis (Bryce) Nielson.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Deon Winn; parents Loron and Gertrude Winn; in-laws Ferrell and Freeda Moosman; brothers Jim (Mariam) and Bill, sister Beverly (Duane); sisters-in-law Diane Winn, Mary Winn, Renee (Errolynn) Larsen, brother-in-law Mike Roberts, and grandson Shane Ellis.
The family would like to extend a very special, heartfelt thanks to Kathy, Russell’s daughter, for the many years of live-in care she provided him. We appreciate her sacrifice and willingness to help him in his final years. We would also like to acknowledge Janis and Bryce Nielson, Chad Winn, and Judy Frye. As well as the nurses at Zion’s Way for assisting in his care and making Russell comfortable during his last few months of life.
