Sally Sedgwick
Monroe/Richfield

Sally Jo Jones Sedgwick of Monroe, Utah, 84, peacefully passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Monroe Canyon Assisted Living.  She was born October 8, 1937 in Antonito, Conejos, Colorado to Stanley West Jones and Almeda Martha McGee Jones.  She married LaMar Rich Sedgwick on April 4, 1958 in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on November 6, 1979.  She is survived by her children: Stanley (Karen) Sedgwick, Richfield; Marlene (Glen) Bashore, Las Vegas, NV; Cindy (Barry) Sorenson, Aurora; Paula (Chad) Christensen, Grantsville; JoEtta (Russ) Hill, Layton; and Bryce (Kathryn) Sedgwick, Aurora; 25 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; siblings: Donna Otero, Denver, CO. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband; LaMar Rich Sedgwick, parents, and siblings.

Sally cherished the opportunity to do humanitarian work and worked for many years at the humanitarian center in Richfield. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and dedicated much of her time serving  in various callings throughout her life.  Sally and LaMar served a mission for the Church at Cove Fort for several years, they worked at the Family History Center in Richfield and the Church cannery in Sigurd, Utah.  Her passion was writing poetry where she won a national award and won a trip to Disneyland.  She also had a passion for coloring and colored countless pages to compile books for children in other countries. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and loved her heritage.   One of her favorite things to do was watch the Utah Jazz basketball team play.  She was one of their biggest fans! She loved to dress from head to toe in Jazz attire when she watched.  She loved dancing with her grandchildren and continued until she was too weak to dance anymore.

Sally loved her children and taught them to love the gospel, to work hard and serve others. She made friends easily and everyone felt her warmth and kindness.  She had a lifetime of bad health, but kept positive and persevered.  She had a beautiful voice and loved singing in the church choir at her ward. She instilled the love of music to her children and they all played a musical instrument. She will be missed by many, but will join the love of her life and be with her family that she missed so much.

We would like to Thank Monroe Canyon Assisted Living for all their love and care the last 5 years. Also a special thanks to Erica Sirrine, Rachel Thurgood and all the Hospices Nurses.
