Sami Baxter, a beloved mother, wife, and grandmother, passed away unexpectedly on June 26, 2025, in Gunnison, Utah. Born on February 19, 1969, in Gunnison, UT, she brought joy and warmth to everyone around her throughout her life.
Sami's passion for cooking and baking was evident in the way she loved to feed her family and community. Her culinary talents were not only a personal joy but also a source of connection with those she cherished. Throughout her career, she worked at several local restaurants, and her most recent position was at Christensen Arms, where her dedication and hard work were truly recognized.
Sami was an amazing mother and Nana, fiercely devoted to her family. She found great joy in spending time outdoors, camping, and fishing with her loved ones, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Her spirited personality and love for her grandchildren—Payson, Claira, Emersyn, and Weston Jessop—were a testament to her nurturing nature.
Sami is survived by her longtime companion Rick Keisel, of Manti, and her children Tristen (Enoch) Jessop and Casey Shipley, both of Manti. She also leaves behind her siblings Kathy (Gaylen) Squire, of Manti, and Steve (Donelle) Baxter, of Salt Lake City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Clara Maurine Cheney Baxter, and her sister, Patricia Henningson.
Sami's spirit and unwavering dedication to her family will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
Graveside services and Interment will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Manti City Cemetery. Viewing will be held prior to services from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Magleby Mortuary, Manti. Online guestbook and live streaming of the services at www.maglebymortuary.com. under Sami’s obituary.
