Shellie Griffin

July 28, 1963 — May 26, 2011

Our beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, Shellie Griffin, 47, passed away in her home May 26, 2011 in Escalante. She was born July 28, 1963 in Panguitch to Cecil F. and Carrie Bailey Griffin. She married Glenn Wilson July 17, 1981, they later divorced.

Shellie loved to restore old furniture and working with her hands. She loved being in the outdoors where fishing was one of her favorite activities. She taught all of her children how to fish, something they could all enjoy as a family.

Shellie was active in the LDS Church, and found great peace in God. She was a very proud grandmother enjoying the opportunity to show off her new granddaughter whenever she could. She also loved her nieces and nephews. She always had a very special ability to cheer you up when you were down. And now we can all take comfort in knowing that she is at peace. We will never forget you Mom, we love you.

She is survived by her children: Brad (Misty) Wilson, Page, Arizona; Courtney Wilson, Escalante; Marina Wilson, St. George; granddaughter, Marisa; mother, Carrie, of Escalante; siblings: Debra (Junior) Cronin, Escalante; Lanell (Boyd) Cottom, Cedar City; Daryl Griffin, Escalante; and Rhonda (Troy) McMurtrey, Idaho Falls, Idaho.
