Our loving mother, wife, grandma, sister, aunt and friend, Shelly Dawn Hansen Kirschner, 62, passed away in Richfield, Utah on March 9, 2021. She was born February 6, 1959 to Ronald E. and Betty Lou Christensen Hansen in Richfield. Shelly married her high school sweetheart, Ken Kirschner on July 3, 1976 in Richfield, Utah and were later solemnized in the South Jordan Temple.
Shelly and Ken have three children: Mindy (Justin) Okerlund, Monroe; Wesley (April) Kirschner, Richfield; Linsey (Reggie) Parsons, Monroe. They have ten grandchildren.
Shelly was a devoted mother, grandma and friend. She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed serving in many callings, including Young Women’s and many years of youth Sunday School with her husband.
Shelly worked at her dream job of being a hair dresser for over 30 years. Her love of doing hair was passed on to her two daughters. They all worked together along with her sister in their family owned salon, Hansen’s Beauty Supply.
Her greatest joys in life were her husband, children and grandchildren. She loved spending her time following her grandkids around from sporting events, gymnastics, to dance recitals and school programs. Her grandkids were the light of her life! In her free time she loved to get a diet Pepsi and ride around with her husband or friends.
She loved and accepted everyone like they were her own. She had a talent of making people feel loved like she had known them forever. She called her husband “Hun” and everyone else “Hunny.” She will be missed so much by friends, family and all who knew her.
Shelly is also survived by her father, Ron; preceded in death by her mother, Betty; sisters: Rauna (Lynn) Olcott and Teri Ann Anderson.
