Shirley Ann Jensen

March 11, 1941 — May 4, 2011

Shirley Ann Madsen Hunt Jensen, 70, returned to her Heavenly Father May 4, 2011 in St. George, after a valiant battle with cancer. She was born March 11, 1941 in Richfield to Ray N. and Veone Bridges Madsen. Shirley married her eternal sweetheart, Ronald Glen Hunt, October 9, 1958 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death November 14, 2000.

Throughout her life she loved the Lord and served diligently in many leadership positions in the Relief Society, Primary and Young Woman organizations and served as well as a stake missionary in the LDS Church. She also gave service in many other positions and capacities. She was an accomplished artist who added beauty to everything she touched. Those who knew her will fondly remember her as always giving loving service to those around her.

Shirley married Galen Jensen May 4, 2002 in Richfield. They enjoyed nine happy years together. Galen was very devoted in his care of her during her long illness.

Shirley is survived by husband, Galen, Santa Clara; sister, Marjorie (Dan) Baird, Annabella; her sister-aunt Elouise Rosequist, Richfield. Shirley and Ron’s greatest achievements were four close-knit and loving children, who would tell you, "Their parents took them to the tops of the mountains and to the bottom of the ocean". All four of their children were married in the temple and are active members of the LDS Church. They are: Kevin Ronald (Kristann) Hunt, Tucson, AZ; Ronda Ann (William) Gregorius, Chula Vista, CA; Marie Veone (Gerald) Plumb, Manteca, CA; and Rand Glen (Susan Jane) Hunt, Greenville, TX; 12 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; Galen’s children: Galene Jensen, Bruce (Galene) Jensen, Juliann (Fred) Allison, Cynthia (Shon) Goulding and Leslie Ann Jensen; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
