    Shirley June Thayer, 80, of Gunnison Utah passed away December 8, 2022 at her home with her daughter by her side. Shirley was born May 27, 1942 in Fillmore to Bert and Pearl Johnson. She married her high school sweetheart, Gary Thayer and together had three wonderful children. Gary preceded her in death on October 18, 2022.
    Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Shirley loved to garden and always had the most beautiful yard full of flowers. She loved to watch the humming birds and butterflies that came to visit all the pretty flowers. 
    Shirley is survived by her daughter, Annie Marie Lucero; and sister Donna Cox; 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.   
    She is also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sherry Jacobson; son, Robert Thayer; grandson, Travis Sargent; brother, James Johnson; sisters: LaRue Stevens and Marge Halligan. 
    Funeral services will be held Friday, December 16, 2022 at 12:00 Noon in the Gunnison 3rd Ward where friends may call from 11:00 - 11:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Gunnison City Cemetery.
