Steven George Goulding, 65, passed away at his home in Henrieville, March 24, 2011. He was born June 18, 1945 in Panguitch to Kenneth Edwin and Elsie Middleton Goulding, the 3 rd of five children. He was a graduate of Bryce Valley High School and was a member of the LDS Church. He lived his entire life in Henrieville where he was happiest.

Steve married Kathleen Porter, July 29, 1966 in Farmington, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple.

From an early age, Steve loved to have a tool in his hands. He was a natural mechanic and could fix anything. He kept the family vehicles running as well as the machinery for the farming operation. Many were recipients of his willingness to serve and give of himself. He loved to "spend time in his shop while Kathy was out Gaddin".

He loved the mountains and down below. He worked long and hard to maintain the range and his cattle.

Steve served in the Army and was a Viet Nam veteran. He served in the Garfield County Search and Rescue and was the commander of the Jeep Posse. He served on the Henrieville Irrigation Water board and was Water Boss.

He drove truck for Lincoln Lyman, Bob Orton Trucking, and for the past 20 years for the Garfield County Road Dept.

Steve was a quiet man of very few words, but he had the biggest and kindest heart in the world. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. We will forever treasure his example of endurance through many trials without complaining.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen of Henrieville; children, Steven Troy (Jeannette) Goulding of Provo, Sheila (Mark) Orton of Panguitch, Stephanie (Dave) Roberts of Henrieville; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sisters, Wynona (Ernie) Henderson of Henrieville, Kathryn (Dave) Pollock of Tropic and brother, Dick (Jane) Goulding of Delta.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth (JoAnne); daughter, Lori.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 28, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Henrieville LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Monday morning from 11:00 to 12:30. Interment will be in the Henrieville Cemetery with military rites provided by the Bryce Valley American Legion Post #18. Funeral Directors, Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
