Taryl Lamar Greenhalgh

April 25, 1924 — August 16, 2011

"Our loss is heaven’s gain..." Our father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Taryl Lamar Greenhalgh, 87, of Richfield, silently slipped from this earthly realm on Tuesday, August 16, 2011, in Draper.

Taryl worked various jobs for Union Pacific Railroad, Nephi Rubber Plant, Utah Highway Patrol, and Richfield City.

A kind, quiet gentleman, Taryl was a friend to everyone. Family was his first priority. A patient, smart father who could answer any question asked of him.

He loved being outdoors, gardening, animals and the Utah Jazz.

He will be dearly missed by his children: Kathie (Steve) Howes, Marysvale; Dan (Liz) Greenhalgh, Yuma, AZ; and Valerie (Mansour) Nejatifar, Sandy; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Glade (Louie), Midvale; Jack (Gaya), Tropic; Paul (Kaye), Nephi.

Preceded in death by wife; parents; granddaughter, Calli; great-grandson, Logan.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Magleby Mortuary Chapel, 50 South 100 West in Richfield where friends may call Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Vine Bluff Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. Funeral Directors, Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.

Taryl was born in Nephi on April 25, 1924 to Ronald Lamar and Harriet Leone Ingram Greenhalgh, the oldest of four boys. He married Joyce Orton July 1, 1946 in Nephi. They were together for 61 years before Joyce’s passing in 2008. They were the parents of three children.
