Trudy Brown Rainey, 70, of Cedar City, Utah, passed away in her home on March 5th, after a battle with cancer.
Trudy was born on February 13th, 1956, to two wonderful parents, Carlyle and Claudette Brown, on Hill Air Force Base. She was married to Charles Rainey in October of 1974 and later divorced in 2014. Trudy enjoyed crocheting, sewing, needlework and created beautiful blankets and pajamas for her grandchildren, family, and friends.
Trudy has three children, Gregory, Jennifer, and Michele, all whom she loved. Trudy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren creating memories and adventures whenever she had the chance.
Trudy worked for many years as a loan processor for Zions Bank and then as a secretary for the Iron County Building Inspectors, and finished her career as a clerical assistant for the Iron County Judicial Court system.
Growing up, Trudy was always there for us, whether we needed help with our homework or just a shoulder to cry on. She was our protector and our cheerleader. Trudy was a woman of faith, and instilled the importance of family, hard work, and doing what is right. Our mother was a true role model who we will miss greatly.
Our mother was a kind, caring, and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. Trudy was a source of inspiration and will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
In retirement, she loved spending time with her father and brother, and they would spend many evenings together at each other's homes.
Trudy was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Rainey, and her mother, Claudette Hawley Brown. She is survived by her children, Gregory (Valerie) Rainey and Michele (Bo) Brown; her father, Carlyle Brown; and her brother, Layne Brown. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Bella and Sophia (children of Gregory and Valerie), Porter and Lincoln (children of Michele and Bo), and Devin (child of Jennifer).
