Beth Roberts

Richfield, Utah

Beth Irene Parberry Roberts, 77, died on November 21, 2020, in St. George, Utah. She was born on July 21, 1943, in Sidney, NE, to Harold and Dema Parberry. Married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple to Wendell Roberts, on June 6th, 1960.

Wendell and Beth met while Wendell was in college at BYU. After he graduated, the two married and moved to Orange County California. They found their way back to Utah and started  raising a family, living in Tremonton, Randolph, and Richfield. Beth completed a BS degree in Elementary Education with a special education endorsement from Southern Utah University. She taught for the Utah schools of the Deaf and Blind and the Sevier School District. After Wendell retired in 1994, Beth accepted a teaching job in Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands. She taught 3rd and 4th grade at Tanapag Elementary, where she received the Outstanding Teaching Award. Wendell passed away in 1997 on Guam; Beth returned to Richfield in 1998. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Beth served faithfully in many callings. She loved working with the children as the Primary president for the Saipan Branch, Guam  Micronesia Mission and, more recently, as a temple worker at the Manti Temple. In the community, Beth served on the Richfield City Council, the Richfield City Library board, PTA, and various literacy boards. She also served over 20 years in the scouting program with the Fishlake District.

Beth loved teaching and working with children and teens in the community, at school, and in church. Her students would gather around her as she would tell a story or show them something  new. She always found ingenious ways for students to explore and discover. She was well loved by her students, both old and young. Beth enjoyed serving others and was always found visiting and helping those in need. Even when her health started to fail, she would find a way to make a meal and deliver it to someone in need. Those who knew her heart and true desires will miss having her in their lives.

Beth is survived by her brother, Jon (Janet) Parberry; her children, Kenneth (Cheryl), Philip (Teresa), Billy (Connie), Daniel (Patrizia), Sandra (Steven), Jonathan, Corey (Ann), and Tara (Corey); 32 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, husband Wendell, granddaughter KaSondra and grandson Kevin.
