Caroline "Connie" Christensen

October 5, 1936 — January 16, 2021

Connie Christensen
Richfield, Utah

We lost our mom, grandma, great grandma, sister-in-law, friend and wife of the late Marvin Christensen, who passed away October 28, 2020. Connie passed away peacefully January 16, 2021, in Lehi, surrounded by the love of her family, of the incidental effects of age. Since Marvin’s passing, she has missed him so deeply, and is now rejoicing at their reunion.

Caroline “Connie” Curtis Christensen was born October 5, 1936, to Byam Heber “By” Curtis and Ruth Gardner Curtis in Lehi, Utah. She married Marvin Christensen June 16, 1961, in the Salt Lake Temple.

She is survived by five sons, one daughter and their spouses: Ronald and Rhonda, Lovell, WY; Roger and Sherri, Richfield; Robert and Elaine, Richfield; Richard and Gina, Saratoga Springs; Chad and Paula, Grantsville; Corlyn and Ward Rich, Liberty; 23 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marguerite Blake.

She is preceded in death by her husband Marvin; parents; and one granddaughter.

She graduated from Lehi High School then received her B.S. and M.S. from Brigham Young University. She taught at Manti High School, Richfield High School, and Sevier Valley Applied Technology Center, in the area of Business Education. Connie was also a member of different education organizations. Her teaching career spanned 25 years. Connie took an early retirement in 1992, to spend more time with Marvin and her family. Connie was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities, her favorite being that of ward choir director and chorister. Connie and Marvin served a stake mission to the Cove Fort Historical site from 1996-1998. They also served as church service missionaries at the LDS Employment Center from May 1999-November 2000. Connie was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, a professional womens teachers' organization, and served as the treasurer, historian, convention chair and chapter president. She received the DKG State Achievement Award. Connie enjoyed spending time with Marvin camping and fishing. She was an avid reader and especially loved reading about the lives of the Presidents of the Church. Connie loved to visit her children and grandchildren. She loves them all so much.

The family would like to express their love and gratitude to the staff and volunteers of the Beehives Homes and Bellaview  Assisted Living and Memory Care, for the care, kindness and love given to her.

A public viewing will be held Wednesday January 20, 2021 from 6-7 p.m. and again Thursday January 21, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at Magleby Mortuary.  A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m.
