Debbie “Dede” Bown
Ephraim, UT

On the beautiful fall evening of November 14, 2021 our beloved and badass wife, momma, grandma, sister, daughter, and friend passed from this world as the sun was setting and she then entered into eternity, where she was met with the words “Well done my good and faithful servant well done.” She fought the good fight and has finished the race that was before her as she declared the LORD so faithfully throughout her born-again life. She has taken hold of her eternal promise and we know she is having the best time worshiping Jesus unhindered and without pain.

Debbie “Dede” was born on November 9, 1956 in Fruita Colorado to Shrol Ericksen and Patricia Ericksen Weiss. She was raised by her dad Robert John Weiss. She was the oldest of 10 children and was raised in Sanpete County. She did a lot of moving as a teen to try to find a place to settle roots. She ended up settling in Utah County where she was blessed to become a momma to her three boys and one girl. There wasn’t anything that she wouldn’t do for her children they were everything to her. She moved back to Sanpete County in the summer of 2012 where she ran into her junior high sweetheart and they were married on January 26, 2013.

She has friends from all walks of life. She was involved in so many different organizations throughout her life. She was one of the very first members of B.A.C.A (Bikers Against Child Abuse), She was a member of CMA (Christian Motorcycle Association) where she was one of the prayer warriors, she then joined Sister’s for Christ and was a member up until her health took a turn years ago. She befriended those that the world deems as misfits from gang members to the homeless. She would seek out the lost and the hurting just to tell them how much Jesus loved them and that she loved them too.

She worked as a CNA in an assistant living throughout her adult life. She loved her residents and gave them the most amazing care.

She is survived by her husband Carl; children: Rick, John boy, Stormy, as well as countless godchildren; grandchildren: Billy, Antonio, Daniel, Sierra, Kannon, and Konnor; mother, Patricia; siblings: John (Kimberly), Bobbie Jo (Andy), Victoria (Ken), and Shrol (Laura); and many nieces and nephews.

Those who went before her: father, Shrol Ericksen; dad, Robert John Weiss; siblings, Robert Jr., Valon, Jongee, Valerie, and Vaughn; son, Brandon (disappeared).

My mom at the time of writing her obituary with me wanted to make sure that her hospice nurse was thanked. We as a family wholeheartedly agree and would like to express our deepest thanks and gratitude to Kallie for her devotion and support she showed our beloved De throughout these last almost 4 months. We couldn’t have done it without her.
