Doris Mellor Jensen, 87, passed from mortality surrounded by her children and loved ones on December 30, 2017 in Gunnison, Utah. Doris was born on August 15, 1930 in Fayette, Utah to Elgin Payne and Maurine Eliza Westenskow Mellor. Doris attended school locally. She married her high school sweetheart, Arlo Udell Jensen of Gunnison on May 26, 1950 in the Manti Utah Temple. Doris and her husband owned and operated Valley Builders and Valley Furniture.

Doris lived an exemplary life strong in her faith and was known for her compassionate heart and love of service. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving faithfully in various callings including a full-time mission with her husband in the Indianapolis Indiana Mission.

She is survived by her children: Brent (Shannon), Larry (Debbie, deceased), Curtis (Danelle) and Denise (Richard); 18 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren; a sister Jean and brother Kent. She was preceded in death by her eternal companion Arlo, who passed from this life in June of 2016; parents; brother, Keith; daughter-in-law Debbie; and grandson-in-law Stevie.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 12:00 Noon in the Gunnison LDS Stake Center, 80 West Center. Friends may call at the stake center Saturday morning from 9:30-11:30 am prior to the funeral service. Interment will be at the Gunnison Cemetery. Funeral Directors; Magleby Mortuary of Richfield. The family suggests contributions to the missionary or humanitarian fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in lieu of flowers.
