Joan Warenski

d. February 18, 2021

Joan Marie Jensen Warenski, 78, was granted her angel wings February 18, 2021, in Richfield, passing peacefully in her sleep after her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends.  Joan was born in Richfield, to Lloyd Edward and Grace Day McGuire Jensen on September 15, 1942. She grew up in Sigurd, and attended Richfield High School.

She married her high school sweetheart, Buster Warenski, June 3, 1959, and they had three daughters: Kerri, Kamie and Kim. She valued being a mother above all else and being surrounded by her friends and family. Whenever there was a gathering, Joan truly believed the more the merrier and always made everybody feel welcome. Joan enjoyed cooking, entertaining and hosting parties. She appreciated the beauty of the outdoors and enjoyed camping and picnics up the canyon. She and Buster divorced after raising their three children. Joan felt joy in keeping her home clean and tidy and later, after her children were raised, she moved to Salt Lake City and turned housekeeping into a business. She always went above and beyond to help her clients. She suffered a stroke in 2008, and struggled with the effects for the last 13 years of her life. She spent her final years living with Kim in Kentucky.

She is survived by three daughters, Kerri Brugger, Salt Lake City; Kamie (Mac) Hummel, Tulsa, OK; and Kimberly (Mark) Stewart, Worthington, KY. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren (and one more on the way); sister-in-law, Janis Jensen; and brother-in-law, David Lund.

She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Lloyd “Mack” and Marie Jensen, Lola and J. Sharland Jorgensen, Patsy and Alvin Adams, Rolland Jensen, Gary Jensen and Janene Lund; and granddaughter, Hanna Day Hummel.
