Kenneth Grant Christensen, 100, passed away November 1, 2015 in Richfield, Utah. He was born in Richfield, September 18, 1915 to LeRoy and Thurza Dalley Christensen, the second of six children. He spent his entire life in Richfield.

Graduating from Richfield High School, he married his childhood sweetheart, Elva Madsen, September 25, 1934 in the Manti Temple. She preceded him in death April 24, 2002. They were the parents of eight children, seven of whom are still living. This dear couple have 193 descendants, all but five still living.

Kenneth was a handyman and performed many labors over his lifetime, witnessing the progress of civilization from the horse and buggy era to the marvelous technology of today.

He worked as a dairyman most of his working life and milked cows for the Ideal Dairy for many years, then moved into processing dairy products. He was also a good carpenter, building much of his own home. He raised a garden and shared his bounty with many.

Kenneth was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Over the years he has held a variety of offices and callings. He enjoyed being Scoutmaster and the delicious pancakes he cooked on trips will never be forgotten.

He and his wife, Elva, fulfilled a stake mission and influenced the lives of many. They later completed a six year assignment at the Richfield Family History Center and also a five year calling as branch president at the Richfield Care Center Branch.

Kenneth loved music and spent many years playing the old fashioned button accordion, entertaining many people.

He is survived by his children: Donald (Mary Carrol) Christensen, Murray; James (Rosalie) Christensen, Richfield; Nella Black, Beaver; Elaine Shupe, Orem; Blane (Sherry) Christensen, Brigham City, currently serving in the Alpine-German LDS Mission; Val (Susan) Christensen, Franklinton, NC; and Kathy Christensen, Salt Lake City; 32 grandchildren; 101 great-grandchildren; 52 great-great-grandchildren; siblings: Gwen Jackman, Sandy; Marvin (Connie) Christensen, Marguerite Blake, both of Richfield. He loved them all and was thrilled especially with the little ones.

He is preceded in death by his wife; daughter, Nona Lee; grandchildren, Jana Lynn Shaw, Brad Wesley Christensen; great-grandson, Emerson Thompson; great-great-grandson, Judson Whitbeck; sons-in-law: Eldon Black, Curtis Shupe; siblings, Helen Holley, Carma Augustson.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 12:00 Noon in the Richfield East Stake Center, 800 North 500 East. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 or on Friday at the church from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
