Kris Martinelli

Elsinore, Utah

Kristofer Guy Martinelli was born in Panorama, CA on December 21, 1969. But was taken from us far to soon on October 2, 2019 near his home in Elsinore. He grew up in Simi Valley, CA, and spent many childhood summers in Antimony, UT where he spent time with his mom Bobbe and his Brad "Dad" Allen on the Phil Allen Cattle Ranch. Antimony held a very special place in his heart.

Kris came to the Lord when his dog Ace was missing for a week. She was found and God miraculously healed her leg. Kris prayed a prayer at age 16. "Lord, I want to love you like no other man."

After high school, Kris attended Moorpark College, the University of Channel Island, and graduated top of his class from San Antonia College with his training in Emergency Medicine as a paramedic. He dreamed of working in Los Angeles "where all the action is." He served for 10 years in the 1990s in one of the top rated busiest stations. He also worked as a firefighter. He worked the Northridge earthquake, the Rodney King riots, the fire storms and the floods. He retired at age 30. His chronic cluster headaches and illnesses began in 1998. He became disabled in 2005. Kris’ lifelong love of music and playing the guitar, lead him to write songs based on his experiences with deep depression, PTSD, and his battles with chronic pain and illness to bring the hope of Christ to others. He produced albums and toured the southwest. One of his favorite places to minister was on school campuses and in the projects. After that Kris continued to serve at various churches in southern CA as a church leader and worship leader, in love and music.

In June of 2004 his beautiful daughter Rachel Argento was born. Kris met his wife Lisa at a Christian based "Anger Management" program, called Celebrate Recovery. They married January 10, 2013 and moved to Utah that same year. They settled in Elsinore, UT, where his great-grandfather was one of the founding members. Kris and Lisa attended a church in Richfield, where they had the joy and privilege to worship and serve the Lord together as a couple. Kris loved God with all his heart. He preached three messages. He taught about worship. He spoke about Paul the Apostle. Paul longed to be with his Savior, but was willing to stay as long as Christ wanted to use him. To live is Christ, to Die is gain. A "win-win" life. His final message was on Luke 10:27 Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself. Even in the midst of his life of suffering and hardship with pain and illnesses he would say "God has found me worthy." Like Paul, he was happy and willing to here as long as God needed him, even if it was to touch just one more person. He passed away doing what he most loves, out on the shooting range with some of his very dear friends. He loved guns and shooting, was an avid knife maker who learned from Chuck Staple ("knife maker to the stars" and his Uncle Glen) and had to buy either a tool or a flashlight whenever he went shopping. Embarrassing his wife was also enjoyable as he loved to play jokes. It could have been possible that he enjoyed going to hospitals to see the pretty nurses. His occupation in retirement was "Professional Patient." Everyone loved him.

"Life is not a measured by the breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away." Kris was a giver of beautiful moments for everyone who knew and loved him. Not many were as compassionate and loving as Kris. He was so fun to be around! His hugs might be missed the most.

He leaves behind his loving wife Lisa Martinelli; parents, Bobbe McGhie (Brad) Allen, Dana Martinelli; daughter, Rachel Argento; brothers: Kory (Bonnie) Martinelli, Jeff (Haley) Allen, Jon Allen, Ashley Allen; sister, Mifi Martinelli; nieces and

nephews: Kade Martinelli, Kailey Martinelli, Jessica Allen, Ashlee Linnett, MaKenna

Linnett, Ryan Allen, Blake Allen; fur babies Acen and Koda; aunts, uncles, cousins,

and countless friends.

"Kris is a special soul who knows our Redeemer, the One who has wiped away all his tears, removed all of his pain, and finally brought peace to his body and spirit. I’m so sad to know that we have lost the joy of Kris’ earthly friendship for now, but I look ever more eagerly toward our reunion that will never be broken. Our Redeemer Lives-and so does Kris!" -MW

"He had a sensitive heart that blessed those who were fortunate enough to truly know him. He also had an incredible gift of music. And with that gift, he is now doing what he was born to do...worshiping his Savior!" -BO

"You shouldn’t cry because Kris is in Heaven and can do the things he loves without any pain." -BA

"One of my best friends has slipped from our midst to the company of angels. To mourn and rejoice strains the soul. I pray that our and Kris' Savior wipes away our tears with the same loving stroke, that we might feel a common embrace from our loving Father." -SM
