Lois Jolley

Richfield, Utah

Our mom, grandma, aunt, sister and friend, Lois Pearson Jolley returned to her Heavenly Father peacefully in her sleep on September 27, 2019 in Richfield, Utah. Lois was born January 15, 1931 in Two Harbors, Minnesota. She grew up with her younger sister, Phyllis in Twin Harbors until their family moved to Everett, Washington in 1948. Lois later met and married Dee Leon Jolley. They were blessed with three children; Lynnette, Robin, and Paulette. In 1966, Lois and Dee decided to take their family on an adventure to Richfield, Utah where they established and operated the A&W Root beer stand from 1966 to 1979. She worked hard to ensure their business was a success.

In 1988, Lois began working for the US Forest Service. Following her retirement, Lois and her best buddy, Chato (her dog) ensured their house was open to all. Lois never missed a grand or great-grand child’s birthday with a personalized birthday card from her and Chato that included photo’s of the birthday day boy or girl. Cards were eagerly anticipated for every birthday! Together Lois and Chato never missed a Sea Hawks game.

Lois overcame many hardships and challenges in her life, including the death of her husbands, son, and grandson. She was tough and resilient. She shared her love of camping, fishing, and hard work with her children and grandchildren. Pots of Lois’s signature dishes "chop-suey" and potato salad will continue to be made and enjoyed per her detailed instructions.

She is preceded in death by husbands; Dee Leon Jolley, Marion "Powder" Brown, and Vern Jolley, her son, Robin Dee Jolley, grandson; Ryan Sheldon Buchanan. She is survived by her daughters; Lynnette (Sheldon) Buchanan, Venice; Paulette (Randy) Ogden, Las Vegas, NV; daughter-in-law Sharry Jolley, Richfield; dear sister, Phyllis (Chuck) Ruebush, Marysville, WA. Grandma Lois will be missed by her 8 grandchildren and spouses, 23 great-grandchildren, and 4 great- great-grandchildren.
