Michael Walsh
Spring City/Ephraim

Michael Ryland Walsh, 51 was born in Ogden, Utah, February 18, 1970. He passed to the other side of the veil while at Utah Valley Hospital on August 22, 2021. He suffered with a malignant lung disease. He was living in Spring City, Utah, at the time of his death. His parents are Robert and Kay Christiansen Walsh. He has a younger brother Brent.

His family lived in Orem, Utah, until 1988 when they moved to Henderson, Nevada. In the growing up years his family liked to visit historic places, hike, fish, and camp, as they traveled through beautiful places in Utah.

Mike always liked working with his hands. It started with blocks, and then standard Legos. He liked most things mechanical like fast cars and model trains. He  played his great grandfather's viola in school. He said he had a photographic memory and he has reminded us of things long forgotten.

He graduated from Salt Lake Community High School in 1988. He also completed classes in welding and metal work in Clark County, Nevada. He was a certified all positions welder, but he would much rather work as a fitter. He had construction, ornamental iron, and mechanic jobs in Nevada and Utah. He enjoyed the work he did on large complex custom pools. This included the plumbing, shotcrete, faux rock, tile, waterfalls, water slides, and such. He liked  to come up with solutions to problems while on the job.

His hobbies included river fishing, working on cars, collecting rocks and artifacts, and following dirt roads that went to the edge of nowhere.

He married Shellie Lee Chadwick in Spring City, Utah on August 18, 2007. Her children are Bobbie Lee and Jeremiah. They later divorced.  He is survived by his father of Ephraim, Utah; and his brother Brent (Marsha) of  Payson Utah. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his mother.
