Rick Antone Robinson

July 18, 1960 — May 2, 2022

Rick Robinson
Richfield, Utah

Ricky “Rick” Antone Robinson, 61, passed away unexpectedly May 2, 2022 in Richfield, Utah. Rick was born July 18, 1960 to Antone and Connie Robinson.  He was the first grandchild, and subsequently spoiled rotten as a child!  His family soon moved a few years later and settled in Paragoonah, Utah.

Growing up in a small town gave Rick many opportunities to get into mischief, whether on his family farm, or exploring the local hills.  Rick attended Parowan High School, where he was an accomplished wrestler.  He was a hard worker, and made a name for himself as a mechanic, working late nights in his dad's transmission shop.  He also garnered a love for building, which he kept working to perfect.  In high school, he had the opportunity to go to State for Bridge-Building.  He enjoyed this opportunity greatly, this helped steer him toward a career he loved.  He spent his career as a quality builder and a well-respected building inspector.  Rick had the opportunity to work in both the public and private sectors and simply found joy in helping others.  There was never a good challenge that he was not up for!  One of his favorite projects was getting the chance to build stairs for the SLC 2002 Winter Olympics, alongside his dad, Antone. He was also given the chance to serve in the Army National Guard for Southern Utah which he excelled at.

Rick was a true friend to all he encountered.  He was always willing to lend a helping hand (or a tool or two) if needed.  Rick was incredibly social throughout his life, and friends were plentiful.  He truly loved and cared for those in his life, and wanted them to know how much they meant to him even if he didn't always know how to express it.

Rick was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He had the honor of being the first Eagle Scout in Paragoonah.  He proudly served a full-time mission to Johannesburg, South Africa: and occasionally you could get him to tell stories of his time there, or even speak some Afrikaans.  After returning from his mission, he married Lori Orton in the Jordan River Temple.  Together, they welcomed 3 children: Kimberly D'On “K.D.”, Jessica Dianne, and Clayton Antone. They later divorced.

Rick married his beautiful wife Sondra Partner.  Together, they welcomed their son, Kenneth “Kenny” Byron. Due to his career they had many adventures moving around Nevada, finally settling in Richfield, Utah. They loved spending evenings together and could be seen enjoying a bit of trivia.

Rick spent any spare time he could find "in the hills."  There wasn't a deer hunt that he wasn't up and prepped for before dawn excited like a kid at Christmas to get just the right spot at sun up.  A good fishing or shooting trip could draw him in just as quickly.  Rick even left us with memories of epic Christmas tree cutting adventures, where being stuck was all just part of the journey!  He also loved to garden and would share with anyone that would let him. All these hobbies have most definitely been passed on to his children who all have fond memories of their time in the hills with their dad.

Rick leaves behind his wife, Sondra; his children: K.D. (Dave) Kidman, Clay (Emily) Robinson, Kenny Robinson; his siblings: Toni D'On Halstead and Chad Robinson.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Jessica; brother, Todd; and parents, Antone and Connie Robinson.

Rick loved his family, his friends, good food, and a good visit!   He especially loved a good visit with people he loved AND good food! Because of that, we would like to celebrate Rick with an End of Life Celebration on Saturday May 7, 2022 at the Paragoonah Town pavilion.  Just the way Rick would like it.  Casual, good food, amazing people, and sharing memories.  We hope that you will join us in celebrating the life of this incredible man.

Cremation services have been held at the Magleby Mortuary Crematory.  Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Paragoonah Town Cemetery, followed by the celebration of life at the town pavilion, 79 North Main in Paragoonah.
