Ruby Olcott Mason, 90, passed away January 25, 2020 in Provo. She was born January 28, 1929 in Sevier, Utah to George Howard and Amy Sarah Green Olcott. She married Eldon R Mason on May 3, 1947 in Richfield, Utah. The marriage was solemnized on February 13, 1948 in the Manti LDS Temple. Ruby treasured being with her best friend and eternal companion Eldon. He preceded her in death on October 6, 1984.

Ruby was a life-long active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions. She especially enjoyed her many years of service at the Manti Temple.

She was a compassionate, giving, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, counselor and confidant. She gave tireless service to family, friends and neighbors.

Ruby was very strong-willed.

Ruby never shied away from hard work and especially enjoyed working on the farm with Eldon. She treasured being outdoors and spending time at the cabin she and Eldon built. She loved to crochet doilies/afghans, quilt, read, and visit with family and friends.

She always made sure that her children, grandchildren, and any other visitor got some sort of treat. In fact, her dying wish was to ensure that there were enough candy/lollipops to give the children as they came to say goodbye.

After over 35 years of being a widow, she greatly anticipated returning to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ. Most of all, she has finally fallen into the embrace of her beloved husband, Eldon, and her son, Sherril.

She survived by her children: Richard E (Kaye) Mason, Los Alamos, NM; Saundra M (Brian) Burke, Elk Ridge; Suzanne M. (Edgar) de Leon, Bellevue, WA; Maurice R (Mary) Mason, Pleasant Grove; 14 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

Also preceded in death by her parents; son, Sherril R Mason; siblings: Howard (Joy) Olcott, Alyce (Curtis) Wilson, Rulon (Miriam) Olcott, Aubrey (Rosella) Olcott, Viola (Vondell) DeLange, Arleen (Ruelon) Curtis, and Georgean (Bill) Warby.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in the Aurora 1st Ward Chapel, 85 N Main Street where friends may call from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Aurora City Cemetery.
