Russell K. Jorgensen, 70, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 in Salt Lake City. After receiving a bilateral lung transplant he was unable to overcome the effects of subsequent multiple surgeries. Russell was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was born February 16, 1948 in Richfield, Utah, to Phil and Nina Jorgensen. His childhood was happy and he grew up working in the family business. He married his sweetheart, Pamela Watson on June 12, 1970 in the Manti, Utah LDS Temple.

Russell graduated from Richfield High School with wonderful memories of sports and friendships. After serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Norway, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1973, from Brigham Young University. During his lifetime, Russell enjoyed serving in numerous callings in the Church. In all areas of life, he had a passion for learning, searching for understanding, and discussing issues with the many people he loved.

Russell managed his own trucking business and multiple other ventures. He later became an award-winning insurance manager and enjoyed friendships working throughout the western states.

He is survived by his loving wife; children: John Russell (Angela) Jorgensen, Suzanne Jorgensen, Maria (Nick) Scott, Diana (Steven) Jorgensen-Fox, Natalie (Nathan) Erickson, Michael Phil (Katie) Jorgensen, and David Frank (Kate) Jorgensen; 16 grandchildren; siblings: Greg (Margaret) Jorgensen, Ned (Joyce) Jorgensen, Teresa Ann (Kent) Nielson, Sonia (David) Miller, David (Lynette) Jorgensen, Jane (Jeff) Larsen, James (Kristi) Jorgensen. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 20, 2018, at 12:00 Noon in the LDS ward chapel located at 159 North 400 W., in Richfield. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Magleby Mortuary, 50 S. 100 W., Richfield and at the church Friday from 10-11:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Richfield Cemetery.
