Sandra Shaw

Ephraim, Utah

Sandra Sue Hadsall Shaw was welcomed in to the arms of her Savior on 13 May 2019, having lived with her daughter in Ephraim, Utah since 2016. She was born on March 5, 1944 in St.Charles, Iowa to Robert C. and Jean Alberta Peak Hadsall. She graduated in the first graduating class of Interstate 35 High School in the spring of 1962. Sandy married Charles Rudolph Shaw on 31 May, 1969 and raised five children: 3 sons and 2 daughters in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and also in Colorado and is the grandmother of 17 grandchildren. Since childhood, Sandy was very active in her community. She actively participated in 4H, served for many years in the Parent Teacher Organization in her childrens’ schools, served as a Cub Scout leader for many years, served as a city council member in Dacono, Colorado and worked as a customer service representative for many years with Qwest Communications. Sandy joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in December 1984, and served in the Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary. She could always be found helping to cook and serve at the many Church activities including youth dances, ward parties, weddings and funerals. Sandra enjoyed singing in Church choirs, and also found great joy in singing Karaoke with friends in her later years.

Sandy was very friendly and made friends pretty much wherever she went. Since moving to Ephraim a little over two years ago, she has made many friends in the community. Sandy loved serving those around her and was known for the hand-crocheted baby blankets she has made for over 100 babies born in her family and ward congregations over the years. She also found great joy in delivering birthday cards to those around her, especially the women and widowers in her ward.

Sandy loved her children and grandchildren and did the best she could to teach them to work hard and have great adventures. She loved attending her children and grandchildrens’ concerts and theatrical productions whenever possible. She particularly loved musicals and truly enjoyed attending Snow College Theater productions since moving to Ephraim. Sandy was very creative and showed her love through service. She will be greatly missed by her family and by the communities in which she served.

Sandra is survived by her children: Robert Dansler Shaw, Loveland, CO; Jeana Cheney (Aaron) Ephraim, UT; Andrew Shaw (Tonia Wilkerson), Jonesboro, GA; Cathryn Pope (Don), Parker, CO; and 17 grandchildren living in Utah, Nevada, Washington, and Colorado; her brothers: John Hadsall (Judy), Treasure Island, FL; Robert Hadsall (Mary), Ankeny, IA; Bruce Hadsall, Indianola, IA; and her ex-husband Charles Rudolph Shaw. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; and her son Charles Ryan Shaw.
