Tana Maynes

Sevier, Utah

Tana Shumway Maynes passed away on Sunday April 26, 2020 at the age of 35 from a tragic accident. She is survived by her loving husband, Jaron Maynes; and her children: Piper, Jet and Maverick Maynes. Her children were her biggest joy and her children loved her.

She was born December 21, 1984 to Shirwin and Susan Black Shumway in Montecello, Utah. Parents and step-parents include: Shirwin and Annette Shumway, Devin & Laurie Magleby. Brothers and sisters are: Zane Shumway, Michelle Huffaker, Michael Dean Harrison. Grandmother, Donna Magleby. She was preceded in death by her dear mother Susan Black Magleby; brother, Luke Shumway; and grandparents: Merwin and Shirley Shumway, Calvin and Carolyn Black, Dallin Magleby, Jim and Ginger Palmer.

Tana was a loving wife, mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister and friend. She was an active, enthusiastic person always enjoying life with her family and friends. She had a love for life, playing, laughing, shooting, boating, camping and riding Harleys with her family. She always had a love for horses and shared that passion with her daughter Piper. She was positive and strong enduring the trials of the twins’ difficult pregnancy, premature delivery, and nursing the twins to a full, healthy development.

Tana was a strong person who could stand out with a smile and make you laugh or stand up to you and make you cry. You always knew where you stood. She loved the friendships she made and was generous with family and friends. She will be sorely missed by those who knew her best.

Private family funeral services will be held Saturday, May 2, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. in the Magleby Mortuary Chapel.
