In loving memory of Vernal Clark Ogden. Clark passed away peacefully at home on June 8, 2020. He was born on March 7, 1931 in Richfield, Utah to Reed and Theresa Ogden. Clark was sealed to his high school sweetheart, Charlene Gardner on September 4, 1951 in the Manti Temple. Together they have raised 3 children: David (Patricia), Diane (Brent) Nye, and Douglas. He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Phil.
Clark grew up in Richfield. After graduating from high school, he attended the University of Utah. Along with his studies, he was a member of the swim team. Upon obtaining his degree, Clark joined the military. He served his country as an officer in the United States Air Force for 22 years. He loved flying and the many experiences that came with his service. He proudly flew the American flag over his home and cabin. After retiring from the Air Force, Clark went to work for the State of Utah Water Resources. Both careers brought many friendships that lasted a life time.
Clark loved his family and would do anything for them. He attended numerous sports, dance and other events of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; supporting them in their interests and endeavors.
He loved the outdoors. A dream was fulfilled when he was able to build a beautiful log cabin at fish Lake. Many precious family times and memories were made there. One would often find Clark teaching the next generations how to hunt, fish, and respect and care for nature. His cabin had an open door policy. He was often teased that he was running the Ogden Bed and Breakfast. Summers, from Memorial Day to October would find Clark at the cabin until his failing health kept him away.
Helping others was a motto he lived by. He would go out of his way to help anyone in need. There were no strangers to Clark. He would strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere.
Clark was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, VanDe and Paul.
