Vivian Conder Stapley Redfern was born October 19, 1933 to John and Florence Conder in Austin, Utah, the 7th of 8 children.  She passed away on October 7, 2021 in Roy at the age of  87, to be reunited with her loving husbands, parents and family members.

Vivian married Rulon Floyd Stapley in 1948 in Fredonia, Arizona. Floyd preceded her in death in 1967. Together they had 4 children, Rulon Dale, Michael John, Rhonda Karol, and Bonita Rae. She married Stanley Redfern in 1978, who also preceded her in death in 1994.

Vivian spent much of her life moving to different towns with the love of her life, Floyd, and later to be closer to children and grandchildren. She lived in Utah (Joseph, Austin, Monroe, Richfield, Ogden, Logan, and Roy), Oklahoma (Oklahoma City), Idaho (Jerome and Burley), and Washington (Othello, Connell, Pasco, Rockford, and Medical Lake).

In addition to the hard work of raising four children, she also worked as a school lunch cook, and in fast food and retail stores.

Vivian was the most incredibly vivid storyteller. Generations of her children have fallen in love with her stories of “The Princess and the Glass Hill”, “The Table that Laid Itself”, and many others. She delighted in yard sales and collecting antiques, and she was skilled at sewing and quilting. In addition to wonderful memories of handmade dresses and clothing, her children and grandchildren also remember her for trips out to the Big Rock Candy Mountain, cemetery tours, listening to her play the guitar and sing (performances which she continued well into her 80's), her puffed rice balls and Easter "BBQ" (sloppy joe's), glass candy and Indian decor. Vivian also held a special place in her heart for her dog, Deedee.

Vivian is survived by her children: Dale (Patricia) Stapley, Michael Stapley, Rhonda (Barry) Godding, Bonita (Dean) Hunt; 9 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren who will greatly miss her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Floyd and Stanley; brothers: Ray, Morgan, Jay, and Rex; and sisters: Myrtle, Betty, and Fern; and daughter-in-law Billie (Mike).
