William Edwin “Bud” Garner passed away peacefully with family present on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 1:12 p.m. in Panguitch, Utah. He went to be with his Heavenly Father at the age of 92 years. He was born July 23, 1928 in San Bernardino, CA to William Berdine and Edna Naomi Nett Garner. He married Leatha Cleo Rogers for time and eternity in July 1974 in the Los Angeles Temple..
Bud’s main occupation was a clerk for the Santa Fe Railroad in San Bernardino. He was also a member of the United States Naval Reserves for 40 years, from 1948-1988. He was a member of the N.E.R.A. the F.R.A. Fleet Reserves Association, the Tin Can Sailors, the Sevier Valley American Legion Post #37 in Monroe, the N.R.A., and the Naval Memorial as a plank owner.
His hobbies included train memorabilia, coin collecting and his guns. He enjoyed traveling, being an amateur fossil hunter and especially spending time with his family. Bud loved playing games, trains and other activities with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He always had a story or a joke to tell to whomever crossed his path. His constant and final piece of advice “never lose your sense of humor”.
Survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Leatha. He is lovingly remembered by his children: Kathleen Ann (Rex) Waddington and William Kenneth (Tracy) Garner; 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; sister: Anna Marie (Daniel) Northrup.
Preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Circleville Ward Chapel where friends may call from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Circleville Cemetery with military honors by the Sevier Valley American Legion Post #37 and Naval Honor Guard.
